Vestis Services Merchandise Control Manager in Hibbing, Minnesota

Description

Responsible for overall execution of daily stockroom (garments, allied and supplies) production activities while ensuring workplace safety, cost effectiveness, timeliness, and accuracy of processing as well as high product quality for entire stockroom. Working under direction from the Plant Manager and/or General Manager seeks to optimizes workflow and efficiency and meet production goals and profitability objectives. Builds and maintains positive working relationships with Market Center Management team and keeps them informed of production issues. Leverages resources of Operations Support team as needed to address and overcome production issues. Working under direction from the General Manager, Plant Manager or production leader directly supervises stockroom workers to ensure that production standards are followed, and goals are achieved, positive employee relations result, and policies, rules and regulations and procedures are followed.

  • Executes work in accordance with Company safety guidelines and in a productive and efficient manner.

  • Aid in the overall execution of daily production activities while ensuring safety, cost effectiveness, timeliness, and accuracy of processing as well as high product quality for entire market center.

  • Working under direction from the Plant Manager and/or General Manager seeks to optimizes workflow and efficiency and meet production goals and profitability objectives.

  • Manages staff to ensure safe, standardized, and efficient processing of soiled garments/products: wash and dry aisle; dryer offloading, sorting and bundling, and processing of product for storage or delivery.

  • Monitors production levels and proactively adjusts to ensure product output levels are met in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner, and in line with quality standards.

  • Builds and maintains positive working relationships with Market Center Management team and keeps them informed of production issues.

  • Leverages resources of Operations Support team as needed to address and overcome production issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS AND ACTIVITIES

Typical tasks and activities for this job include but are not limited to the items listed below. Additional duties may be assigned from time to time as needed by management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchase order and inventory control process

  • Ensure a high level of service to AUS customers through product availability while maintaining effective control over the related costs

  • Review orders for accuracy, pricing, and establish market center reorder levels to align inventory with targeted turn rates

  • Hire, train, and coach all stockroom staff to ensure proper standards are followed

  • Coordinate all merchandise order activity with Supply Chain department and the Distribution Centers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Three or more years of inventory control experience

  • Experience with ERP systems is required; Oracle preferred

  • Previous supervisory experience in supply chain or stockroom environment is desired

  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate supply management reports and directives

  • Ability to understand order cycles and timelines employed with good customer service

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred

  • Successful completion of Criminal Background, Motor Vehicle Record, and Drug Screen checks
