job summary:

A Process Engineer is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in Hickory or Newton, NC areas. A Senior Process Engineer responsible for driving process improvements, defect and variability reduction, and Six Sigma initiatives in a high-speed manufacturing environment, while providing hands-on technical support, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

location: Hickory, North Carolina

salary: $40.81 - 57.14 per hour

work hours: 8am to 5pm

education: Bachelors

responsibilities:

  • Lead manufacturing process improvements and initiatives focused on variability, defect, and throughput reduction.

  • Support and drive problem-solving efforts in manufacturing, identifying and resolving root causes.

  • Apply engineering principles to overcome production challenges.

  • Coach and mentor junior engineers, developing their skills.

  • Conduct experiments to enhance process understanding and support technology implementation.

  • Develop standard work documentation (SOPs, SOS, Job Aids, Training Documents).

  • Present updates to leadership on active workstreams.

  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices.

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
