CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for a Production Planner.

Type: Contract

Job Title: Production Planner

Location: Hickory, NC

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Hickory, NC

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: BS in Supply Chain, Business or technical field

Description

Involves the overall planning, implementation and optimization of activities and support required for the delivery of products and services to our business partners, from materials/service acquisition through shipment. Primary areas of responsibility include: driving production order dating, scheduling, releasing to operations and pegging to shipments, supply chain related project work, and data analysis. A series of operations performed in planning, making and controlling the execution of customer requirements for assigned products. Maintains and controls the business strategies and system architectures to drive enterprise-wide solutions and create production plans (MPS) that are executable and driven to the plant with the highest accuracy via SAP.

Requirements:

  • Routinely report to management on status and performance for assigned products.

  • Manage the master production schedule to drive materials for customer requirements and optimizing required production fluctuation and inventory levels.

  • Coordinates demand recognition for new products in MRP for both new product introduction and product transfers between plants.

  • Reviews, analyzes, and is accountable for compliance of delivery performance to the most critical and most strategic customer contract requirements by customer set.

  • Coordinating plans and execution with Product Line Management (PLM), Plant Planners, Engineering and Plant Management

  • Supports ongoing business team activities for assigned product line(s).

  • Engages in materials coordination and capacity facilitation with divisional and plant procurement.

  • Measure and compare actual production results against the production plan and forecast.

  • Facilitate adjustments to ATP as required to reflect actual plant performance and realized production rates. Identify adjustments needed in resource allocations based on such changes.

  • Support production planning/master scheduling activities, including order management, resource planning, delivery promising (ATP management), and production forecasting and reporting of actual manufacturing results vs. plan. Provide back up to certain planning functions.

  • Serve as department liaison with the Production, Engineering, and Kaizen Departments.

  • Work closely with production coordinators and team leaders to establish short- term and long-term expectations and execution of the production plan.

Education

  • BS in Supply Chain, Business or technical field

  • Computer Literate in MS Office
