ManpowerGroup Purchasing Manager in Hickory, North Carolina
Manpower is seeking qualified professionals for a direct hire Purchasing Manager role working for a distribution company located in Hickory, NC.
Manages all purchasing and inventory activities; receives orders and grants approval for purchases of goods and/or services; and analyzes changes or new issues in materials and supplies to find ways to reduce costs and improve quality.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors including, negotiations with vendors on pricing, payment terms, and distributor contract between Company and the vendor; plus regularly meet with vendor representatives to assess current performance jointly to develop strategies for improvement
Manage and maintain all distribution contracts, rebate, MDF contracts, and other agreements with our manufacturers
Minimize obsolete, slow-moving and excess inventory via various methods including obtaining credits/stock rotation authorizations from vendors, discounting, liquidation and other means
Work with sales and marketing to ensure products available for sale are those needed to meet market demand and are consistently stocked
Approve pending purchase orders according to authority matrix-allowed levels or for new vendors
Maintain and manage the MRP and the min/max ordering system
Direct, measure and analyze all Purchasing and Inventory activities including supervising administration of weekly cycle count and analyzing results of cycle count adjustments
