Job Overview
Cambrex High Point is looking for a motivated, skilled Facility Maintenance Technician, to support site operations as part of a team assisting in all activities and duties, including general and preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
Responsibilities
Complete logs and perform other documentation necessary to the tasks performed
Maintain, organize, and control tools and equipment
Performs incidental carpentry, masonry, painting, sheetrock work, metalworking repairs, light bulb replacement and ballast change out, and other maintenance activities
Provide preventive maintenance services in accordance with a well-defined program; institutes corrective action on any deficiencies
Assist with performing emergency service and repairs on mechanical and structural systems and equipment as necessary to satisfy service requests and to maintain the equipment in proper operating condition
Assist in maintaining and making repairs on utilities systems and equipment
Assists entire team in all activities and duties assigned, installs or assists in installing and/or replacing various types of equipment, structures and subassemblies including lubrication and cleaning
Maintain appropriate critical spare parts inventory for facility equipment
Utilize various electrical or other test equipment and meters as applicable to effectively troubleshoot equipment and systems
Periodically be on call; work overtime and respond to emergencies as required.
Qualifications/Skills
Experience with Pharmaceutical/GMP environment a plus.
HVAC Controls, Instrumentation or Calibrations experience preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal and time management skills
Educated or familiar with all concepts, methods, and procedures applicable to the job

Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements
+ + High school graduate or equivalent.
Equivalent combination of training, education, and experience in manufacturing facility maintenance is desirable.
2-4 years of work experience or combined work and education experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Basic computer skills to include Word, Email, Outlook.
Demonstrate a thorough practical and theoretical understanding of specific field of expertise such as electricity, HVAC and controls or willingness to learn from supervisor
Some active work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or the amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The daily work is performed is primarily in a production setting. Walking and standing are required regularly.
Use of ladders and roof access may be required.
Position also requires visual acuity, talking and fingering.
Involves regular use of basic PPE (personal protective equipment) such as supplied air respirator, negative pressure respirator, gloves, safety glasses, shielding clothing.
A Chemical Manufacturing environment. Basic hazards associated with a small chemical plant environment such as: flammables and/or toxic materials, heavy item movement, large machinery operation.
