Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

Location/Division Specific Information:

Our Hillsboro site produces world-class electron microscopes used by scientists and engineers to drive innovation around the globe. This role works to produce-high quality components used in the world’s finest tools used by researches like Nobel prize winners and the teams who imaged the COVID-19 virus.

How Will You Make an Impact?:

With such an important global mission statement our Test Technicians reinforce our Quality Culture through product testing to ensure that Customers across the world receive the highest quality best performing products possible!

A day in the life:

  • 2nd Shift: 2pm to 10:30pm (During training, there will be schedules during the day shift)

  • Perform testing using prescribed methods/work instructions, ensuring flawless execution.

  • Collect test data and analyze it to make informed process decisions that contribute to our continuous improvement efforts.

  • Perform diagnostic activities to identify and address manufacturing challenges, ensuring efficient equipment operation.

  • Perform machine set-up, calibration, and preventative maintenance to maintain optimal performance.

  • Rebuild manufacturing equipment when needed to ensure operability and minimize downtime.

Education:

  • A 2-year technical degree or electronics background in the Military, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.

Experience:

  • Military Veterans are encouraged to apply.

  • At least 10 plus years of manufacturing experience is required.

  • Background in precision mechanical assembly and low volume, complex manufacturing processes is preferred.

  • Previous experience using test equipment such as Digital Multimeters and Oscilloscopes is preferred.

  • Experience in lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement is a plus.

  • Previous assembly experience in a Clean Room environment is a plus.

  • Experience with Windows-based and MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) is required.

Knowledge, skills, abilities:

  • Proficiency in interpreting detailed drawings and conducting problem-solving activities for electronic and mechanical assemblies at both the component and system level.

  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team of 8-10 colleagues, fostering a collaborative environment.

  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Proficient in adhering to detailed work instructions and effectively accomplishing job responsibilities.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, both independently and within a team.

  • Ability to support projects, conduct training, and work productively within cohesive teams.

  • Self-motivated and self-starting with strong organizational skills.

Physical requirements / work environment:

  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs.

  • Strong communication skills, successful in working with colleagues of differing cultural, language, and educational backgrounds.
