WorkSource Oregon Manufacturing Lead (Day Shift) in Hillsboro, Oregon
Schedule: Wed-Sat 5am-4pm SUMMARY: Function: To directly supervise operator during the manufacturing process in order to manufacture product safely and efficiently while strictly adhering to established standard operating procedures and company policies. Scope: Responsible for coordinating work on the manufacturing floor and reviewing operator progress throughout the shift. Additional responsibilities may include facilitating group meetings and providing training to operators. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma, G.E.D, or be a candidate for completion of either of these certifications. Associate degree is preferable. A minimum of 3 years of direct supervising experience in the manufacturing industry is required. Extensive computer skills are required, (3 to 5 years) with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access Database. SAP software knowledge is not required, but highly preferred. REQUIRED PERSONAL SKILLS: 1. Demonstrated leadership skills. 2. Ability to effectively communicate in English (both oral and written). 3. Proficient in algebra and formulating equations. 4. Have a stable, verifiable work history with excellent attendance record. 5. Be mechanically inclined. 6. Must be comfortable working with chemicals including, but not limited to, corrosives and organic solvents. Job Requirements: 1. Assignment of work in order to effectively use labor time in order to maintain a highly efficient department. 2. Assisting the supervisory team with scheduling manufacturing floor work. 3. Adherence to corporate, State and Federal regulations and guidelines when handling hazardous materials or when exposed to hazardous situations. Must adhere to departmental and corporate standard operating procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 4. Assuring that operators are competently performing their jobs by monitoring their progress on their tasks. 5. Reporting problems to the Supervisor as soon as they are understood. 6. Recordkeeping of hazardous waste manifests, inspection reports, processing data and other required documentation. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: There is a potential for exposure to hazardous conditions and/or materials.
