Job Description

Occupational Health Coordinator II - Overnight Mon - Thurs 6:00pm - 6:00am Salary Range - $44,354.00 - $70,967.00 Plus $3.00 Per Hour Shift Differential

Responsible for medical support of all aspects of plant, as well as assisting with patient care functions in the Medical Department. Responsible for the scheduling of the OSHA mandated physicals, fitness center memberships, safety prevention activities, health fairs, wellness activities and medical vendor relations. Responsible for assisting in managing workers compensation claims and maintaining OSHA recordkeeping.

Essential Functions

  • Provide medical support at the ACLS level for those areas involved in potent compound production including laboratory areas.

  • Assist with daily activities in the Medical Department such as medical monitoring and care for work-related injuries and non-work-related illness/injuries.

  • Night shift work is required, and some overtime may also be required.

  • Daily maintenance of emergency equipment throughout plant.

  • Assist in teaching First Aid/Responder classes.

  • Work with minimal supervision.

  • Perform audiograms and respiratory spirometry (will be trained)

  • Provide basic first aid for work related injuries.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Position reports to the Senior Occupational Health Nurse.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Other responsibilities as needed or indicated include Emergency Response Team, Confined Space Rescue, Incident Command Responsibilities/Medical officer, and Decontamination.

  • Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

Minimum Requirements

Education / Experience / Skills:

  • Education required/ preferred: Completion of Paramedic course and certification as a Paramedic in in the State of New York

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-plus years’ experience in Emergency Care and recent experience in advanced emergency situations.

  • Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Current license as a Paramedic level EMT in the State of New York

  • Current ACLS certification

  • Skills/Competencies: Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a team environment.

  • Work as a team member in a fast-paced environment

  • Other Skills: Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in emergency medicine

Organizational Relationship/Scope:

Must have exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to interface with all departments and associate levels. Flexibility to accept new duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Will spend some time in an office environment with minimal time spent in Manufacturing areas. Manufacturing areas are not climate controlled. During summer months, building exhaust fans provide ventilation. Chemicals handled include acids and bases, organic solvents, and inorganic compounds. Chemicals may have characteristic odors or hazardous properties that require special handling.
