Job Title: CE Facility Support Engineer - Electrical 2

Location: Onsite, Hoffman Estates, IL 60192

Shift: 12-Hour Shifts (Thu-Sat) & (Wed-Sat)

Pay Range: $35/hr. - $40/hr.

Duration: 6 - 18 Months Contract

Job Summary:

The CE Facility Support Engineer - Electrical 2 will support the operation and maintenance of electrical systems in a critical environment facility, ensuring optimal performance and safety. The role involves conducting daily operational readings, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting with troubleshooting and repairs. The ideal candidate will have experience with electrical systems in high-availability environments such as data centers, manufacturing, hospitals, or refineries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all tasks listed in the CE Tech Level 1 role description.

  • Take daily operational readings of all electrical equipment (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.) through routine rounds/log-taking.

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for critical environment planned work activities.

  • Energize cabinets in Colo environments.

  • Conduct quarterly and annual preventive maintenance for Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on system control panels and batteries.

  • Assist in troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing instrument sensors and performing calibration.

  • Adhere to safety procedures and physical security policies during all work activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous data center experience.

  • Fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code.

  • Qualified Electrical Worker certification is a plus.

Required Qualifications:

  • OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E Certification.

  • Experience with electrical systems in high-availability environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or related fields.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • 3+ years of work or applied learning experience in technical fields (e.g., automotive, electrical, controls, data centers).

  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including 12-hour shifts, rotating shifts, and varied work weeks (3, 4, or 5 days).

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
