Title: Sr IT Project Manager (Hybrid)
Location:Waukegan, IL (4 days in the office and 1 day remote) Duration: 6 Months
- This non exempt position will: Develop, execute and manage IT projects within the defined scope.
- Expedite, manage and coordinated a multitude of interrelated IT project activities within the constraints of human and financial resources and changing priorities to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Works with business and IT management to establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives and deliverables.
- Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect projects working with department, divisional management and sponsor to gain agreement for resolution.
- Measure performance to assure the project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget.
- Develops and executes a work plan obtaining authorized resources to ensure all activities are performed.
- Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders.
- Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to Project Team, Department and Division management.
- Coordinate resources to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members based upon their abilities.
- Supervises and motivates cross-functional project team of business analysts, developers, and validation analysts.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
- Manages Projects at the department or division level.
- Makes decisions that impact projects or Departments.
- Influences or has final decision authority for project level, budget and activities.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma,Bachelor degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline.
- At least 6 yrs. experience in project management, business systems analysis, software development or deployment, with a minimum of 3 years experience managing projects.
- Position will report directly to the Director, IT Talent Development/OCM/Marketing & Communications.
- Client IT project management experience strongly desired.
- IT Project Management Resource will play a key role in supporting all IT Project and Program Managers in Business and Technology Services within the Talent Development Office in BTS.
- Under the direction of the Director, IT Talent, OCM, and Marketing & Communications, this individual will support the IT Project Management community with understanding client IT project management approaches, associated training and tools, and how they can be successful in the current operating environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Train client IT Project and Program Managers on the use of standard tools and processes in support of managing IT projects.
- Partner with the IT Project Management Office and Talent Development Office on process and skill-building initiatives for IT Project and Program Managers.
- Support the IT PM community, driving continuous improvement with experienced Project and Program Managers, fostering interest in PM acumen and personal development across the IT organization.
- Advise, coach, and facilitate discussions with IT project leads and leaders on Project Management best practices, approaches, a d resources.
- Provide regular updates to management on Project Management capabilities, tracking project management delivery against objectives.
Skills:
- Ability to apply a structured project management approach and methodology
