Job Description:

GDIT has an opportunity for a Senior Network Administrator to support U.S. Army Europe as part of our Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services (EMITS) program in Hohenfels, Germany.

The Sr. Network Administrator is responsible for managing the functionality routers, switches and firewalls as well as maintenance of the integrity and security of routers, switches and firewalls.

The Sr. Network Administrator will also be tasked with maintaining network equipment and network diagram documentation as well as interacting with users, other administrators, and external technical Support services.

HOW A SR. NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.

  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of network computing resources.

  • Develops and implements testing strategies and document results

  • Provides advice and training to end-users.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

  • Participates in special projects as required.

  • Knowledge and experience with inline encryption devices (KG-175D, KG-250).

  • Knowledge and experience with Cisco Routers, Switches and ASA Firewalls.

  • Knowledge and experience with Cisco Unified Communication Manager

  • (CUCM) and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express (CME).

  • Knowledge of Tactical communications equipment such as TCN, CPN, GATR Ball, and JNN.

  • Knowledgeable on network routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.

  • Attend planning conferences as required.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Clearance Level Require: Top Secret is required, with ability to obtain SCI

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

  • Experience: 5 years of directly related experience in Network Administration and analysis. Experience with Routing Protocols; Cisco Unified Communication Manager & SolarWinds

  • Certifications Required: DOD 8570 IAT Level II Compliant. (Security +CE, CCNA or above.Must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire. Must obtain a computing environment certification within 6 months of hire.

  • Skills Required: Hardware/software troubleshooting skills & strong understanding of network troubleshooting. Position may deploy to support organization in other countries within Europe. No more than 30 days per instance. Position may involve lifting heavy objects, repetitive actions and/or sitting for long periods of time.

  • Contingent upon Award of German TESA

TESA requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR;

  • An associate's degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;

  • A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;

  • 11 years of recent specialized experience.

The likely salary range for this position is $88,275 - $101,775. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
