GENERAL PURPOSE
Provide Product Development team support of New Product Commercialization (NPC) projects. A key source of information management in the NPC process for Product Development. The Project Planner works to enforce, create, and continuously improve project management methods and standards. The Project Planner is also responsible for development, implementation, and monitoring the consistent application of project management methodologies. Typical programs assigned will be complex in nature, supporting key product strategies. Emphasis should be placed on teamwork, and approaching project objectives with a business development attitude, bent for success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Analyze and interpret project control reports of project performance, identify corrective alternatives and recommend corrective action. Assist the Program Manager in planning, estimating, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling the product development project. Focus on providing expertise that enables a project team to operate effectively. Lead activities of sub projects within the project scope (i.e., prototype builds, etc.) Maintain communication through the Product Development Team by the completeness and accuracy of project information. Perform additional responsibilities as requested. Provide project support managing project schedules and tracking project information in areas of NPC deliverables, budgets, capital, product cost, issues resolution, product criteria, FMEA, QFD, etc. Provide project support per NPC guidelines, including the development of project schedules, and support in the development of project and product strategies. Support one or more project teams as assigned. Support the product design and development process from opportunity assessment through realization and integration to ongoing business. Contribute to completion within established time and budget guidelines, acceptable financial returns, and quality products satisfying relevant customer criteria. Work closely with and encourage team participation with all functional areas within HMI, with focus on our contracted designers, engineers, manufacturing resources, Core Team members, our extensive supplier network, purchasing, etc. Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience
Bachelors degree or degree seeking in business or a related field Capable of assisting multi-skilled project teams. Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills required. Requires accuracy, initiative, business familiarity, adaptability, and tenacity to persevere in challenging assignments. Licenses and Certifications
