Staffing Inc. is partnered with a growing company in South Haven, MI who is looking to hire qualified Operations Employee working in the Shipping Coordinator/Supervisor who is ready to start ASAP. The company is a proud supplier of tarp systems for dump trucks, trailers, complete tarp systems, replacement parts, and heavy-duty tarps. As a Shipping Coordinator Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate the daily shipping activities within a warehouse or distribution center. You will be responsible for managing a team to ensure efficient and accurate shipment of products to customers. You are trained to use tools and equipment for ensuring secure and proper on-time shipment. In addition, you assist with needs in other departments to ensure products are produced and shipped on time.

Operations Shipping Coordinator/Supervisor Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise and lead a team of shipping associates
  • Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determines most economical and efficient shipping method; selects appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery
  • Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are all correct
  • Provide shipping quotes to sales team as required
  • Ensure appropriate payment has been processed prior to shipping product
  • Traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of list shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents
  • Maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards
  • Supervise team performance and productivity, supporting individual training and development.
  • Work in assigned areas to support the needs of the shift and/or the department to ensure quality production and on-time order fulfillment.
  • Organize production workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
  • Encourage teamwork and communication among all US Tarp operations.
  • Train, oversee and coach employees, helping to resolve work-related problems.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by training and monitoring employees' use of equipment.
  • Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly.
  • Submit reports on performance and progress for production, safety, and employee performance.
  • Identify and communicate production and inventory challenges; working with other leaders to resolve issues.
  • Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements.
  • Operate a forklift, as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Shipping Coordinator/Supervisor Qualifications:

Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment

Proficient in using forklifts and other warehouse equipment

Strong Management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certificate.

Basic computer skills and Microsoft.

Ability to read, write, perform simple arithmetic, and measure accurately.

Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in production and documentation.

Ability to understand and maintain quality and safety standards.
