Snelling is recruiting for afull-timeLitigation Legal Assistantfor a well-established company in the Birmingham area. The Legal Assistant will assist the Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group in a broad range of areas including bankruptcy, asset recovery, loan workouts, small business foreclosures, collections, state court litigation, restructuring, and liquidations matters.

The starting salary range is $48,000-60,000, depending on experience.

Litigation Legal Assistant Responsibilities:

• Perform general administrative support functions as needed to meet deadlines and further the objectives of the bankruptcy practice group
• Update and manage attorney calendars with particular attention to court dates and other relevant case-related deadlines
• Draft routine court documents for attorney review and approval, including but not limited to pleadings and engagement letters
• Open new matters and close files as requested by attorneys
• Interact and communicate with courtroom deputies, judicial assistants, law clerks, and other courtroom staff in bankruptcy, state, and federal district courts

Litigation Legal Assistant Requirements:

• Must be well versed in bankruptcy, federal and state court procedures, and filing requirements, including e-filing
• A minimum of 4+ years of Commercial Bankruptcy experience within a law firm
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite of business software products, including Outlook, Word, Excel
• Working knowledge of Best-Case bankruptcy software and document management software.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion.
