DESCRIPTION OF WORK The position involves performing skilled maintenance and repairs on various vehicles, construction equipment, and hand tools, such as oil changes, diagnostics, tune-ups, and repairs on cooling, suspension, electrical, and fuel systems. Safety and emissions inspections will be conducted, adjustments made for safe operation, and assistance provided to other mechanics when necessary. Equipment records will be maintained, emergency road service provided, and parts and supplies procured as needed. Automotive records will be managed, reports generated, and a clean and safe work area maintained by following safety procedures and using protective equipment. Proactive measures to prevent accidents, prompt reporting of injuries, adherence to call-off procedures, punctuality, and efficient work both independently and as part of a team are essential. Environmental protection measures will be implemented, environmental management requirements complied with, and active contribution made to the Strategic Environmental Management Program (SEMP) objectives. Support will be provided to fellow employees in promoting sound environmental practices within the District and County.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Schedule is subject to change due to weather/season; winter shifts - 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM , or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities. Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a current and valid Pennsylvania Class C driver's license; This position requires possession of a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Class 1 Certified Inspection Mechanic certification. This position requires possession of a CFC-12 Refrigerant Recycling Certificate and a 134A Refrigerant Recycling Certificate (can obtain after start date) Conditions of Employment: Must supply own tool box and basic tools Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
