JOB SUMMARY

This person will lead a multi-disciplined team as part of the Data Centre Solutions organization to ensure overall success of the transitions and programs supporting strategic business in Global Workplace Solutions (GWS). This work is predominantly mobilizing new Data Centre client accounts , greenfield facilities and expansion/transformation of existing accounts. This individual will provide on-going leadership and direction for these transitions by facilitating planning sessions and client meetings, assessing risk, implementing mitigation plans and communicating with key decision-makers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for transition success & primary point of contact for client on APAC or Data Centre Solutions projects.

  • Responsible for setting and driving transition objectives and performance indicators; to drive timely completion of all transition milestones

  • Oversight and escalation point for all Data Centre transitions and extended team on the transition. Recognizes, applies and captures lessons learned all throughout the process

  • Supports the client pursuit process, to include; solution and transition strategy development and presentations as needed. Participates in pursuit process, representing qualifications of the DCS transition team

  • Lead transition planning efforts post-award prior to include kickoff, team coordination and mobilization

  • Leads the core and extended transition team to ensure all transition commitments are met and delivered in the agreed time frame following the DCS transition process. This leader typically delivers exceptional outcomes

  • Manages and controls the transition budget, forecast any deviation, and provide required reporting.

  • Leads the Go-Live strategy & readiness review sessions to ensure successful Day 1. Ensure contract obligations are met and transition deliverables are satisfied using the DCS best practices, tools and processes. Manage transition closeout process including 'lessons learnt' and operational handover to account leadership team

  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the planning, organization, and controls for a functional area or department. May be responsible for a mix of direct and indirect reports. Approves recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Monitors appropriate staffing levels and reports on utilization and deployment of human resources. Leads and supports staff in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising and rewarding performance and retention. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Project Management or related fields

  • MBA or Advanced Degree Preferred

  • 15 years of progressive leadership experience

  • Professional background with systems implementations, mergers/acquisitions, re-engineering or other large/complex projects

  • International work experience preferred

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents.

  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style.

  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups.

  • Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles.

  • Reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by subordinates.

  • Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions.

  • Develops and implements financial policies and procedures.

  • Approves and oversees department budget.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.

  • Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.

  • Deep operational knowledge of Data Centre and/or critical evironment operations

  • Deep operational knowledge in complex organizations

  • Ability to predict possible risks and proactively develop mitigation plans with the appropriate stakeholders. Can lead teams through solutions and enable successful outcomes

  • Understands impacts and cascade effects of managing time and expenses.

  • Understand transition budget developments and how to expertly manage to each established budget.

  • Expert at ensuring all scope is accounted for within the transition plan; can proactively develop custom components based off client needs and can lead the development of new components into the standard plan

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve complex results.

  • Responsible for setting transition, department and/or division deadlines.

  • Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company.
