Queen's Health System Decision Support &Analytics Analyst (Full-Time, 40, Day) in Honolulu, Hawaii

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinates the functions and activities related to financial outcomes improvement, cost management and enterprise business and operational analytics while providing high quality, responsive customer service.

• Collaborates with clinical/physician leaders on quality improvement initiatives to assess financial outcomes.

• Identifies financial performance improvement opportunities and collaborates with clinical/physician leadership toward exploration/implementation of initiatives.

• Provides leadership and technical support to department staff in business and operational analytics to include: performing analysis, design, coding, testing and installation of user interactive data storage and retrieval systems utilizing QHS’ enterprise data warehouse.

• Serves as key enterprise resource for business/operational analytics. Identifies report objectives, analyzes related data and workflows, then designs, develops, and validates analytical reports for the enterprise. Analytics should include key performance indicators, visualization and trending to integrate data across functions and applications such as ERP, KRONOS, CARE*Link, Health Catalyst and enterprise data warehouse applications.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Essential: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, repetitive arm/hand motions.

• Continuous: sitting, frequent gripping of an object.

• Occasional: standing, walking, stooping/bending, lifting usual weight of 20 pounds up to 40 pounds; reaching above, at and below shoulder level, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods of time.

• Operates computer, calculator, copier, telephone.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems/Computer Science, Accounting or related field; or five (5) years progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, information technology, health care or related field may be substituted for the degree.

• Master’s degree preferred.

B. EXPERIENCE:

• In addition to the educational requirement, three (3) years database management experience as educator, programmer or analyst; or, three (3) years as an end-user with a major emphasis in data management systems.

• Experience in a lead or supervisory role.

• Experience to demonstrate:

o Knowledge of relational databases and ability to extract data into reports, i.e., SQL, Crystal Report Writer.

o Ability to link data to workflows to produce relevant analytics

o Advanced skills in developing/maintenance of spreadsheets.
