Queen's Health System Lead Maintenance Worker (Full-Time, 40 Hours, Day Shift) in Honolulu, Hawaii
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides work leadership and technical guidance to Maintenance Workers.
• Assigns, coordinates and supervises work to staff to ensure smooth and continuous operations within prescribed guidelines.
• Performs duties of the Maintenance Worker I.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Standing, walking, stooping/bending, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, and speaking.
• Occasional: carry 15-20 pounds, gripping of an object (tools, equipment and handles).
• Infrequent: sitting, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching above and at shoulder level.
• Depending on area of assignment:
o Lift: occasional 15 to 20 pounds; and infrequent 21 to 45 pounds.
o Push/pull wheeled carts and equipment: infrequent up to 25 pounds of force.
• Heavy equipment, tools and machinery should be moved with additional assistance by other individuals and/or mechanical equipment, i.e. hoist, carts, and lifts.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Subjected to noise/vibration from power hand tools required in area of assignment.
• Some exposure to electrical current, hazardous materials, fumes and odors.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Graduate of trade or vocational school in specialty area; OR completion of two (2) year apprenticeship program; OR five (5) to seven (7) years work experience in specialty area, including experience in making cost estimates and assessing job priorities may be substituted for the educational requirement.
• Academic background necessary to perform basic mathematical calculations, cost estimates, provide instructions, and write reports.
• May require license or be capable of acquiring license depending area of assignment.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Demonstrated ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
• Prior experience to demonstrate ability to function in lead position preferred.
