Queen's Health System Pharmacy Technician - Rehab Pharmacy (Call-in, Day) in Honolulu, Hawaii
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Fills routine orders for unit doses and pre-packed pharmaceuticals in accordance with State and Federal regulations; provides technical and clerical assistance to the Pharmacist.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: standing, walking, stooping/bending, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking; lifting usual weight of 3 pounds; lifting occasional weight of 20 pounds; pushing/pulling usual weight of 50 pounds; reaching above, at and below shoulder level; repetitive arm/hand motion.
• Frequent: gripping of an object.
• Operates various office/pharmaceutical equipment such as typewriter, computer, copier, fax, telephones, calculator, cash register, dispensing machines, etc
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Some exposure to cold temperature from freezer.
• Exposure to noise/vibration from office/pharmacy equipment.
• Exposure to body fluids, chemicals and contact with patients with communicable diseases.
• Works on multiple tasks at the same time.
• Work environment is fact paced, crowded and may be stressful.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Completion of pharmacy technical program or on-the-job education/pharmacy work experience, preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• One (1) year work experience, preferably as pharmacy technician/ clerk.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
