Queen's Health System Project Manager, QHS System Strategy & Business Planning (Full-Time, 40, Day) in Honolulu, Hawaii

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serves as a consultant and resource to executive staff and departments to plan and coordinate projects and programs to develop and/or enhance/optimize clinical and non-clinical services provided by The Queen’s Health System (QHS).

• Provides overall project management for capital and strategic projects and programs for QHS and subsidiaries and ensures alignment with corporate strategy and direction.

• Evaluates and monitors projects and programs to ensure adherence to established plans as well as ensure clinical and business goals and objectives are met.

• Facilitates project owners and teams through the strategic planning process using organizational development methods and tools that enable transformation.

• Is aligned with the mission and values of QHS and highly motivated to advance the organization in its strategic direction.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Essential: sitting, seeing, hearing, speaking.

• Frequent: finger dexterity.

• Occasional: standing, walking, stooping/bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground; repetitive arm/hand motions.

• Operates computers, printer, copiers, facsimile.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• Bachelor’s degree in a clinical discipline, Business Administration, Hospital Administration, or related field.

• Master’s degree preferred.

• Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean preferred.

• Knowledge of organizational development preferred.

• Current and active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification by the Project Management Institute preferred.

B. EXPERIENCE:

• Five (5) years of experience in any one (1) or a combination of the following areas: clinical administration, hospital administration, business consulting, quality improvement, business and/or financial project planning and development.

• Health care experience preferred.

• Two (2) years of project management experience, including large and complex initiatives.

• Experience to demonstrate the following:

o Ability to organize, lead and manage significant capital and strategic projects and programs.

o Operational or business analysis experience, including data modeling.

o Ability to work collaboratively with a broad spectrum of people to lead and implement process and operational changes.

o Ability to facilitate large groups and breakout discussions, including through virtual meeting tools

o Strong written and verbal communication skills.

o Ability to synthesize and visualize complicated concepts

o Ability to document workflow and SwimLane charts using Visio.

o Advanced computer skills using Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project preferred.
