Headway Emotional Health Services Day Treatment Mental Health Worker in Hopkins, Minnesota

Youable is seeking a Day Treatment Mental Health Worker, a role that provides behavioral management to adolescent clients in a Day Treatment Program. This includes collaboration, education and support in the academic classroom and behavioral management in the Day Treatment. The Mental Health Worker works directly with adolescents in leading therapeutic skills groups in the program. This position creates a positive therapeutic milieu by building trusting relationships and supports both the educational team and therapists in behavior management of clients by observing and intervening when needed. Location: Hopkins Start: ASAP JOB FUNCTIONS Develop and participate in therapeutic experiential activities; coordinate with therapists to ensure activities are guided by treatment and behavior plans Implement medically necessary treatment strategies in the individual treatment plan and the individual behavioral plan Provide positive, proactive behavior management such as monitoring time-outs and individualized interventions Serve as a role model for clients by demonstrating positive, proactive and respectful communication Provide de-escalation, early intervention and crisis intervention for clients Act as a liaison between academic and treatment portions of the day Supervise and participate in meals, clean up, and therapeutic play activities Document experiential activities and ensure that this documentation is accessible to Day Treatment staff Document the delivery of services in written progress notes compliant with CTSS and Rule 29/47 Participate in clinical consultation of clients with supervisor, professional consultants and program staff Understand and competently adhere to all mandated reporting expectations Participate in training sessions to strengthen clinical knowledge and skills Transport clients as necessary, to engage in experiential activities QUALIFICATIONS Required Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, sociology, or a related field If Bachelor's Degree is in Social Work, must be licensed as LSW A minimum of one year experience working with youth in a therapeutic environment Ability to collaborate and work within a team Ability to work in a fast paced, sometimes stressful environment Proficient computer skills in Word and Excel Preferred but not required Experience working with adolescents Proven de-escalation and crisis-management skills Knowledge, Skills and Abilities High degree of organization and attention to detail Proven ability to identify and resolve problems Ability to collaborate and utilize the skills of program team and other staff Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with youth that are experiencing emotional dysregulation Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, identify strengths in individuals and systems and positively motivate others Ability to think on your feet during a crisis General Knowledge of county and state rules, laws and guidelines Professionals of diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
