How you will make an impact The Senior Technician 1, Facilities plays a pivotal role in supporting the Site Operations Department(s) at Halozyme by providing comprehensive facilities management and maintenance on a day-to-day basis. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to: Ensure the availability and ongoing upkeep of facilities, maintaining them in a condition that prioritizes safety and cleanliness. Adhere to stringent safety protocols while effectively utilizing the necessary safety equipment for various tasks as required. Conduct systematic inspections and perform or work with Vendors for preventative maintenance on HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing systems, promptly reporting any issues to the Manager and formulating strategies for repair. Execute a diverse range of skilled maintenance tasks for Halozyme facilities, encompassing carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work. Construct, refurbish, preserve, and reconfigure office furnishings, including desks, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelving units, and other associated fixtures. Perform safety and security assessments of facilities and premises, reporting any potential hazards and maintenance requirements to the supervisory team. Manage and address notifications and alarms from the Building Management Systems (BMS) efficiently. Contribute to site security measures, including the distribution of access badges, surveillance system maintenance, addressing employee security concerns, and coordinating contracted security services. Diligently complete and record all Manufacturing and facilities-related tasks in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Direct and oversee facility enhancement and construction initiatives, ensuring project alignment with organizational objectives. Initiate and sustain essential vendor service agreements and contracts, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. Guide and coordinate the work of contract janitorial and day porter staff, stepping in to perform janitorial and light Facilities related duties as necessary. Monitor inventory levels, procures supplies, and keep accurate records of purchases within the allocated budget with management. Manage the scheduling and supervision of external contractors and vendors for facilities-related services. Maintain meticulous records and logs of daily operational activities, including those related to Preventive Maintenance, safety, or other facilities tasks as instructed. Develop and manage the maintenance, repair, and calibration schedules for the building, facility, and production equipment to ensure operational reliability. To succeed in this role, you'll need: High school diploma or GED with minim m of 2 years of relevant professional experience (An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered) Experience in the operation of forklifts is required Demonstrated experience with standard practices and techniques involved in the operation, repair, and maintenance of facilities and equipment, including proficiency with various relevant tools and machinery. Familiarity with basic occupational health and safety principles, as well as the ability to identify industrial hazards. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, and building maintenance software commonly employed in the industry. Ability to work overtime as necessary, often with minimal advance notice. Ability to work 10 am - 6:30 pm shift to begin employment with likely move to 2nd shift (4:30 pm - 1:00 am) in the future. Technical degrees or certifications are preferred. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual's exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
