Houghton-Portage Township Schools Maintenance Position in Houghton, Michigan
Position Summary:
Responsible for day-to-day operations of school district facilities (K-12). Performs the maintenance, repair and alteration of buildings, equipment and school grounds while ensuring compliance to state regulations under the direction of the Maintenance Director. Position is a year round, full-time union position.
Qualifications: • High School diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. • Excellent driving record and be able to pass a physical, including a drug test. • Able to obtain a Certified Pool Operator certificate (CPO). • Heavy equipment maintenance and repair knowledge preferred. • Able to handle physical demands to complete job duties. • Self-motivated with good work ethic and able to prioritize tasks. • Must complete and pass a criminal history background check according to applicable laws and school board policies. • Related experience to the area of employment preferred.
