Description
This company in Downtown Houston is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to handle expenses by processing invoices, issuing payments, processing credit card charges, and managing other financial transactions within the company.
Job Description/Duties:
Oversee all transactions related to accounts payable including receipt, processing, and verification of invoices.
Input and upload invoices into the system while ensuring correct approval, sorting, coding, and matching of invoices/receipts.
Proficiently process invoices, debit memos, payment transactions, expense reports, credit card charges, and purchase orders.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate vendor files and invoice data for quick reference.
Coordinate and complete periodic reports detailing accounts payable status.
Ensure timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers and maintains accurate records and control reports.
Manage Excel spreadsheets for account analysis and reconciliations.
Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Utilize system data to prepare and furnish financial and operational reports as needed.
Requirements
Requirements:
Proven work experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or a similar role in the Finance department.
Strong proficiency in MS Excel especially in using financial formulas and creating spreadsheets.
Hands-on experience with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks.
Knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
Competency in data entry, analysis, and management.
Excellent client service orientation and attention to detail.
Clear understanding of confidentiality protocols.
