Description We are searching for a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role is focused on designing, developing, enhancing, and integrating business solutions in the software industry. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal IT staff and vendors to deliver business value and ensure compliance with all new systems. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design, coding, customization, testing, and deployment of moderately complex computer programs to support and enhance business solutions and application interfaces.

• Contribute to the delivery of processes, solutions, and projects by applying judgment and selecting appropriate methodologies.

• Implement, integrate, and configure third-party applications, databases, and services for both cloud-based and on-premises services.

• Provide primary and/or secondary post-implementation support activities for systems/applications as required, including after-hours assistance when necessary.

• Work collaboratively with users to understand the business requirements and value chain of solutions technologies.

• Ensure compliance of all new systems with guidelines and security standards.

• Identify and resolve issues in development, QA, and production environments, performing root cause analysis when necessary.

• Coordinate with vendors and remote support when necessary to resolve issues.

• Communicate with end users during analysis, development, testing, and operational phases, including status updates, issue identification, and approval requirements.

• Work with cross-functional IT and enterprise teams to build alignment and model commitment to high performance as “one team”.

• Develop technical skills with emphasis on development with the Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).

• Experience with common Azure services (DevOps, Blob Storage, etc.). Requirements • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Power BI for data analysis and visualization

• Experience with Microsoft Power Automate for workflow automation

• Familiarity with business intelligence methodologies and tools

• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and structures

• Experience in data modeling and database design

• Proficiency in SQL and other data manipulation languages

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills to effectively present insights to non-technical stakeholders

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

• Prior experience in a Business Intelligence role
