Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Patient Care Coordinator-Cosmetic/Plastics/MOHS in Houston, Texas

Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Clinic Administrator, administrative supervisor and nurse supervisor, the Patient Care Coordinator performs both varied clerical and clinical roles to support physician(s) practice and patients. Administrative duties include scheduling cosmetic cases, scheduling office visits, verifying insurance benefits and interpreting medical plan benefits to maximize collections. Other administrative duties include secretarial support for physician(s). Clinical duties include supportive patient care functions for an assigned clinical area (under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse), ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. Some duties may be delegated to the Patient Care coordinator by the physician or RN

Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $ 45,657 - $56,413 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

Qualifications

Education

Required: High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree;in lieu of degree four years of progressive medical hospital or

office experience in insurance,and clinical MOHS, Cosmetics and / or Plastic surgery practices.

Experience

Required: 1 – 2 Years’ experience as a Medical Assistant.

2-3 years of related surgical/cosmetics experience. PC experience.

1 to 2 years direct face to face customer service experience.

1 to 2 yrs. insurance medical business administration experience.

CPT/ICD coding, Medical terminology.

2 yrs. secretarial experience.

Preferred: Ability to speak/understand Spanish.

Previous billing/claims experience

Ambulatory Care experience

1 year of MOHS, Laser, Cosmetic, Outpatient procedure and / or Plastic Surgery and Cool Sculpting experience

required.

License(s)

Required: N/A

Preferred: Certified or Registered as a Medical Assistant

Special Skills

Required: Typing skills 40 WPM with 10 or fewer errors and basic math ability.

Alpha/Num Forms Entry.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Those hired into this position must complete the review/skill validation program within 180 days of hire.

Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population. Computer experience.

Basic Medical & Nursing terminology

Preferred: Typing skills 55 WPM with 5 or fewer errors.

10-key by touch.

EPIC experience

Other

Required: Successful completion of the EPIC PM Front Desk Class.

BLS certified through American Heart Association

Completion the module specific program(s) for Dermatology MA II.

Completion KSC Laser training and Vendor laser training.

Must be knowledgeable and have a full understanding about all Physician preferences and cosmetic and

Plastic Surgery procedures
