Insight Global Project Engineer in Houston, Texas

Job Description

An employer in Downtown, Houston is looking for a Project Engineer to join their team. This person will be responsible for supporting project engineering and project management functions across 15-20 projects. These responsibilities may include:  

  • Reviewing Plan & Profiles.  

  • Ensuring that construction can take place without complications.  

  • Acquire easements, permits, and additional authorization to cross pipelines and other existing infrastructure.  

  • Checking drawings, supporting other engineers by submitting survey requests, coordinating with overhead teams to acquire pole location authorizations, read through one-line diagrams, request new plans from vendors, and support the existing engineers ad hoc.  

  • Review prints and drawings from external engineering design firms.  

  • Coordinate with various internal teams to reach project deliverables (ex. Construction Team, Scheduling Team, Project Management, etc.)

  • Outline and review required materials for projects. Execute project from design to construction.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

3-5+ Years of Experience in Project Engineering or Project Management role

Ability to read engineering drawings, designs, drafts/layouts, and plans & profiles.

Experience utilizing Electrical and/or Civil Engineering understanding to execute projects from design to construction.

Proficient with MicroStation

Experience with Overhead Distribution Projects

Familiar with SAP (work order tracking/processing) Overhead distribution design experience null
