Kuehne+Nagel Sea Logistics LCL Operational Care Specialist in Houston, Texas

Your Role

Reporting to the Sea Logistics Operational Care Manager, Export you will have responsibility for providing quotes and booking LCL Export e-commerce shipments. You will be responsible for processing all LCL (Less than Container Load) Export bookings tendered via the Kuehne+ Nagel E-commerce tool with high accuracy by using proprietary forwarding applications. Execution to be performed in line with company operational procedures, sea logistics standards and compliance guidelines with focus on ensuring operational excellence and great customer service in collaboration with other team members.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for delivering the highest quality of Customer Service. Maintaining consistent communication with vendors, shippers, customer, carriers, and Kuehne+Nagel’s overseas offices throughout the process.

  • Work with team members to establish customer profile and credit terms.

  • Handle and manage all customer contact at file level regarding exceptions.

  • You will be responsible for Increasing customer service satisfaction and business share through quality customer contact.

  • You will review original quotation and ensuring that an updated quotation matching to the actual cargo specifications are presented to the client.

  • Consult shippers on compliance matters and regulatory obligations to help source proper SLI (shipper letter of instruction) information.

  • You will coordinate with shippers, truckers, and carriers (SaCo Gateway/Co-loaders) for the export of shipments; complete process of shipment including arranging for cargo collection and inland transportation, booking, document preparation (bill of lading, billing invoice, certificate of origin and/or Automated Export System if applicable), forwarding, follow up with tracking and tracing, data quality requirements, FSL, problem identification/resolution where capable/authorized.

  • Maintain compliance with US Export Control Laws and Regulations

  • Ensure quality of documents incl. match between data entry and documents, proof reading of commercial documents and Original Bill of Lading.

  • Manage vendors and exceptions including shipment rolling.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • 1+ years’ current industry work experience in LCL (Less than Container Load) Sea Logistics Freight forwarding.

  • 1+ years’ experience in A-Z processing of domestic and international LCL export Shipments

  • 1+ years’ experience with E-commerce shipments

  • You have good working knowledge of domestic and international geography, including countries, major cities, seaports; basic knowledge of U.S. Administration Regulations (FMC, EAR, Hazmat) and other government agency requirements.

  • You have the ability to report to the office 5 days per week.

  • You have the ability to travel for business reasons.
