Job Description:

Parsons is looking for Senior Accountant to join our team! In this role you will get to be part of our Financial Services Center in Houston, Texas. And you will be integral to ensuring the smooth and efficient financial operations of Parsons.

This will be a hybrid work arrangement in the Houston, Texas area.

What You’ll Be Doing

Reconciliations:

  • Perform monthly reconciliations of gross and net pay for all US Business Units in collaboration with Payroll, ensuring completion after the period close.

  • Reconcile Return Direct Deposit accounts for all GBUs in partnership with Payroll, ensuring agreement with payroll bank statements.

  • Verify that Prism and Costpoint systems are balanced during close week.

  • Complete all other account reconciliations by mid-month following the close.

Insurance Benefit Remits:

  • Prepare benefits allocation analysis and Inter-company entries to record the costs

Bank Reconciliations:

  • Complete Bank Wires Account reconciliation after the period ends.

  • Reconcile Payroll Account, A/P & T&E Bank accounts after the period ends.

  • Address stop payments and direct deposit reversals as needed during the period.

UCCM Errors:

  • Correct any Inter-company job errors in a/p batch edits promptly, ensuring timely resolution for a/p and other batches.

Reports:

  • Prepare Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reports on a quarterly basis.

Journal Entries:

  • Process inter-company entries each month before the period closes.

  • Post job cost journal entries within the current period.

  • Post payroll journal entries within the current period.

Deposit Checks:

  • Deposit checks researching and applying to the correct account if not provided.

System:

  • Address requests promptly to avoid delays in batch postings.

  • Resolve A/P batch errors on the same day to prevent deletion from the batch.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Business (or equivalent).

  • CPA certification preferred.

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on reconciliations and financial reporting.

  • Proficiency in accounting software.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

  • CPA Certification

  • Experience with Costpoint accounting software preferred.

Salary Range:

$52,700.00 - $92,200.00
