Key Responsibilities:

This role is an integral part of United’s Digital Technology leadership team. In this position, you will help plan and implement the modernization of our United’s passenger services platform (“PSS”) that is responsible for sales and servicing of all our travelers. You will lead a team that manages the selection, initiation, funding and performance of cross-functional transformation projects, and maintains continuous integration with all United stakeholders at various levels. This team is at the core of ensuring we execute well on our transformation program, to stated goals of schedule, budget and quality.

It is critical that this role establish and maintain strong business relationships with both senior and operating level business and technology leaders and be a key interface with the business.

  • Lead and develop an impactful team responsible for prioritization, initiation and execution of complex, cross-functional airline platform transformation projects

  • Manage the schedule, budget & quality performance of transformation projects across all stakeholders – from project initiation to delivery

  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops for project prioritization, intake, scoping & design

  • Manage our innovation projects – ensuring alignment to United goals and enabling cross-functional engagement

  • Lead continuous improvement of our processes, identify standard methodologies, and grow human capital in support of our strategy

  • Manage the performance of key technology partners involved in strategy & execution

  • Stay abreast of United’s business strategy, and other internal initiatives that intersect with PSS modernization

  • Serve as the voice of the Airline Platform Transformation team in cross-functional IT/Digital portfolio planning

  • Partner with business stakeholders to ensure that quality technology solutions are delivered within scope and budget

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology or Business

  • 5-10 years of management experience in a related role

  • Direct experience in leading organizations involved in planning and execution of a number of concurrent, cross-functional projects

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master's Degree

  • Experience in managing legacy system modernization initiatives

  • Functional understanding of airline reservations, inventory and departure management business processes and technology
