KEY FUNCTIONS

Project Management

  • Provide project management support of all projects and portfolios in the platform.

  • Collaborate with internal and external collaborators to help gain alignment, create a cohesive scientific plan, and to execute projects on time.

  • Manage milestones on scientific projects.

  • Develop Scientific Research Plans for Joint Project Agreements as discussed in Joint Scientific Committee meetings.

  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and changes in scope to solve any potential problems in execution of project plan.

  • Responsible for communicating and discussing changes in approved plans with IMT leadership and its collaborators.

  • Manage the editing of abstracts and manuscript submissions involving IMT scientific data for publication in collaboration with the IMT scientific teams.

  • Facilitate project meetings, including preparing agendas, minutes, and following up with stakeholders on action items.

  • Attend and contribute to routine meetings.

  • Prepare progress reports, comprehensive written reports, and metrics as needed.

Pharmaceutical Alliances & External Collaborations

  • Cultivate and bridge the conversations between IMT and external partners to define and develop scientific projects.

  • Liaise with Pharma alliances to ensure timely and successful completion of collaborative projects.

  • Manage the implementation of the alliance agreement.

  • Facilitate presentations, meeting minutes, and scientific progress reports.

  • Provide updates and reports to the Scientific Director and alliance partners regarding any issues relating to project timelines.

Institutional Initiatives/Collaborations

  • Bridge the conversations between IMT teams, clinical investigators, and other institutional staff/leaders to define specific projects and establish deadlines.

  • Meet the deadlines set by the Scientific Director, and the clinical investigators for necessary scientific presentations at national/international meetings, MDACC board meetings and alliance meetings.

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.

Preferred: PhD in one of the natural sciences or related field or Medical degree.

Experience

Required: Eight of years experience in scientific or experimental research to include two years as a project manager. With preferred master's degree, four years scientific or experimental research experience to include one year as a project manager. With preferred PhD or Medical degree, two years scientific, experimental or related clinical specialty experience.

Preferred: Scientific experience. Ability to communicate with pharma, PI's, stakeholders inside and outside of organization.
