Description This full-time Staff Accountant position is with a terrific company. To succeed in this role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes are also expected tasks. This position is ideal for someone with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.
How you will make an impact
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Take part in various department-wide initiatives Requirements
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Skilled with ERP systems
Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Solid understanding of general ledger
Command of account reconciliation
Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel
University Degree experience preferred
