COMMAND VENTURES INC Warehouse Supervisor in HOUSTON, Texas

Command Ventures is looking for several full time warehouse positions with any career experience. Salary for the Warehouse Supervisor position is $24 - $26 an hour with opportunities for advancement and overtime. The warehouse is located at 6410 Langfield, Houston, TX 77092.

The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the daily activities within the warehouse, ensuring that products are received, stored, and shipped in a timely and efficient manner. The individual will be responsible for maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse environment while ensuring that safety standards are met and operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision of Staff:

    • Manage, lead, and mentor a team of warehouse staff, including pickers, packers, forklift operators, and other support staff.
    • Assign tasks, monitor work performance, and ensure team productivity.
    • Provide training and support to warehouse staff on policies, safety standards, and best practices.
    • Schedule shifts and ensure adequate staffing levels.
  2. Warehouse Operations:

    • Oversee the receiving, storage, and distribution of goods.
    • Ensure timely and accurate order picking, packing, and shipping.
    • Conduct regular stock counts and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
    • Coordinate with procurement and sales departments to manage stock levels.
    • Monitor and improve warehouse layout for efficient storage and space utilization.
  3. Inventory Management:

    • Ensure that inventory systems are up-to-date and accurate.
    • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
    • Work closely with the inventory team to ensure products are stored correctly and rotated effectively (e.g., FIFO).
  4. Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure warehouse operations are conducted safely and in compliance with company policies and local regulations.
    • Enforce safety protocols, including the use of proper PPE and handling equipment safely.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards or violations.
  5. Equipment Maintenance:

    • Ensure that warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery, is maintained in good working condition.
    • Report any malfunctions or repair needs and coordinate with maintenance teams.
  6. Reporting:

    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on warehouse performance metrics such as productivity, stock levels, and order fulfillment.
    • Report any operational issues, delays, or challenges to management.
  7. Customer Service:

    • Liaise with customers or internal teams regarding delivery schedules, order statuses, and any discrepancies.
    • Ensure timely and accurate communication with other departments to maintain customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelors degree preferred).
  • Minimum of [X] years of experience in warehouse or logistics management.
  • Proven leadership experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office, spreadsheets).
  • Forklift certification (preferred but not always required).
