Mutual Benefit Group Enterprise Data Architect in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania
The Enterprise Data Architect's role is to strategically design and implement data warehouses, data marts, and data stores while ensuring high levels of data availability for the data analytics team and for other business units. This individual is also responsible for working with the data analytics team and defining data standards and models for warehouse architectures. The Enterprise Data Architect will also assist in evaluating and selecting infrastructure components such as software, hardware, database management systems, and networking capabilities.
Specific duties include:
- Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for data warehousing in conjunction with the enterprise data analytics team, data users, department managers, clients and other key stakeholders.
- Work with other technical staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Work with enterprise architect and other technical staff to design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective availability, protection, and integrity of data assets.
- Conduct research and make recommendations on data warehouse products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
- Oversee data collection and master data and database(s).
- Work with end users to identify, create, and deliver reports according to requirements.
- Design and manage data warehouse improvement and growth projects.
- Identify inefficiencies and gaps in current data extraction and reports and leverage solutions to ensure data standards.
- Identify data discrepancies and data quality issues, and work to ensure data consistency and integrity.
- Work with technical staff to monitor system details within the data warehouse, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications on data systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
Applicants must possess:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or comparable course of study
- The following certifications are preferred, but not required:
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
- The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)
- Microsoft Certified - Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solution Architect Expert
- Managerial technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting enterprise data warehouses.
- Experience with database platforms.
- Strong knowledge of P&C insurance data, insurance carrier workflows, data analytics fundamentals, and technology.
- Strong knowledge of data governance and compliance.
- Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
- Hands-on experience with data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling, and business requirements gathering/analysis.
- In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems.
- Proven project management experience.
- Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
