Lockheed Martin Supplier Quality Engineer (Level 2) in Huntington Beach, California

Description: We are Lockheed Martin

This position is for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) working with various AV&MS suppliers of complex products mainly onsite in the Irvine, California region.

Goals of the selected SQE are:

- Accepts purchased products to support program

development, production, and sustainment on behalf of LM Aero.

- To ensure long term flow of defect reduction and elimination to continuously reduce cost of poor quality associated with procured product.

- To ensure long term supplier compliance to contractual quality requirements, as they relate to LM Aero product.

Scope includes suppliers of both airframe and system commodities, as well as both build-to-print and design-authority contracts.

The selected candidate will be accountable for

collaborating with executive leadership at the supplier sites and at LM Aero to solve technical and contractual issues, and ensuring execution is aligns with the quality and affordability goals set by the LM Aero programs.

The position requires about 30-50% travel within the United States.

Based on supplier performance, location of work may

change after 18-24 months.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree or above in an STEM discipline.

- Minimum 1 year professional or STEM academic experience in Quality Management Systems, e.g., International (ISO), National (AS) standards.

- Experience performing complete root cause/corrective and preventive action as related to Supplier performance.

Desired Skills:

- Certified Quality Engineer

- Experience performing surveillance as required for Quality applications.

- Experience evaluating Supplier performance and the

working knowledge of continuous improvement methods

to ensure improving supplier quality performance.

- Project Management training / experience.

- Proven ability to work independently.

- Conflict resolution training /experience.

- Statistical process control (SPC) experience.

- Proficiency with Quality Assurance processes and procedures.

- Greenbelt / Blackbelt certification.

- Proficiency with SAP.

- Experience delivering presentations to leadership and customers.

- Industrial Engineering experience / Project management experience a plus.

- Possess hands-on, working knowledge of Engineering drawings, Manufacturing, and Quality processes.

- Read and communicate technical and contractual issues with suppliers and perform purchase order reviews.

- Read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.

- Working technical knowledge of Electrical or Fluid Systems design or manufacturing process and techniques.

- Strong written, verbal communication and organizational skills.

- Ability to tactfully achieve desired actions.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $64,400 - $123,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $74,000 - $139,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
