Amentum Space Exploration Division Engine Systems Engineer #ADV0009U5 in Huntsville, Alabama
As a key member of the Engine Systems team, primary duties for the Engine Systems Engineer will include: Support hot-fire testing and operation of the RS-25 and other liquid rocket engines. Review of pre-test predictions, post-test data, anomaly investigation, preparation and presentation of engine system and subsystem data review contact and presentation. Develop and execute engine system performance analysis models to support system test, vehicle integration, and design development activities. Attend test readiness meetings and pre- and post-test data reviews. Prepare and present material to review boards. Develop test data assessment computer utilities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the evaluation process. Coordinate, develop, and present technical materials related to engine system performance and testing in support of design milestone reviews and anomaly investigations. Prepare technical assessments in areas of liquid propulsions system/subsystem sizing and performance. Document and maintain test and data analysis processes in written work instructions. Participate in relevant trade teams. Identify and pursue resolution of issues. Identify and document customer objectives and product requirements. Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements: A degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field is required. A degree from an ABET accredited university is preferred. Required: Familiarity with pump-fed, liquid rocket engine operation either through education or work experience is desired. Experience with testing, data acquisition, and data analysis. Integration experience at the vehicle or stage level to include technical and systems engineering activities is a plus. Exhibited capability to plan and perform systems engineering and analysis tasks independently and as part of a team.
