ASRC Federal Holding Company Fire Alarm Technician in Huntsville, Alabama
ASRC Federal is seeking to identify a Fire Alarm Technician in anticipation of upcoming work in Huntsville, AL
Active clearance from either the FBI or the Department of Defense (DOD) is a prerequisite, with the capability to obtain an FBI Clearance if not already possessed.
This will include support of a proposal effort – contingent offer will be extended
Overview:
The ideal candidate will assume responsibility the service and maintenance of Fire Alarm systems and their components to ensure proper functionality.
Responsibilities:
Service and troubleshoot systems to diagnose problems and identify solutions.
Ensure customers understand the functionality of their system.
Interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally.
Demonstrate an understanding of and follow all safety regulations and practices.
Open-minded willingness to continue learning.
Any other duties deemed appropriate by management.
Requirements :
Qualifications :
High school/college graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent studies/experience.
2 years of Fire Alarm experience
3 years of experience in the Fire Alarm industry
Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
Experience with electronic testing devices
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to meet state licensing requirements and vendor certifications
Team player, leader and motivated to learn and take ownership and accountability.
Change agent, demonstrating courageous leadership driving and continuous improvement mindset.
Must be a US Citizen.
Successfully pass a drug test and a government issued background investigation.
Tools/Technology/Certifications:
- Must be NICET Level II Certified Manufacturer trained and experienced on current NFPA Codes and UFC regarding inspection, testing and maintenance of all installed fire protection and life safety systems
Preferred:
Fire Life Safety, Low Voltage or Security experience
Fire Alarm Manufacturer certifications
Proficiency working in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Basic understanding of IT functionality
Physical Demands:
Able to safely and effectively use general hand and power tools.
Must be able to use a cell phone and phone apps effectively.
Lift and carry at least 50 lbs. Push and pull more significant than 75 lbs.
Climb a ladder reaching at least 12 feet and use a man lift to perform services.
Exposure to outside weather conditions, temperature changes, and loud noises
