Alamo Group Inc. Master Scheduler Supervisor in Huntsville, Alabama
Position Summary:
Under general supervision, leads supply chain personnel in planning activities, determines scheduling policy for all product lines, produces and maintains a viable master production schedule based on forecast and firm sales orders and ensures production schedule compliance. Provides accurate product delivery dates to Customer Service and communicates requirements throughout the organization via SIOP and Master Scheduling processes.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Supports SIOP processes and leads the development of the Master Production Schedule (MPS). Develops and adheres to scheduling policies for Schwarze products to satisfy forecasted requirements and level load plant operations.
Formulates, produces, publishes, and maintains 12-month rolling forecast and 3-month master production schedule, utilizing current marketing whole goods forecasts, knowledge of shop floor capacity, component availability, and product knowledge.
Oversees and guides weekly production and scheduling meetings providing status of current production runs, purchase shortages and capacity problems/solutions.
Provides completion dates for in-process and new sales orders to Customer Service. Communicates with Production Supervisors, Purchasing, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure production delivery dates are accurate and consistent with production schedules.
Monitors production schedule status and measures schedule reliability and adherence.
Maintains JD Edwards planning and scheduling data, including the Shop Calendar and Work Center Master Data to align with planned production parameters (headcount, shifts, and hours).
Assists in development of annual manpower planning models to identify labor constraints and overtime requirements. Creates and provides Capacity Planning Reports to production.
May lead one or more Production Planners in daily planning and scheduling activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):
Bachelor's degree, Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory control, production control, purchasing or scheduling is required. Will accept 10 years of planning and scheduling experience in lieu of a degree. CPIM, CSCP, or CPM Certification preferred.
Knowledge of heavy equipment manufacturing and processes required. Knowledge of Schwarze products preferred.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to communicate with various levels within the organization.
Able to coordinate multiple activities.
Computer data entry, retrieval, and analysis skills required.
Problem solving and troubleshooting skills required.
Frequent standing and walking, in and throughout plant/manufacturing environment, as needed to perform job duties.
Able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including steel toe shoes.
Able to work after hours, weekends and/or holidays as required.
Self-driven with strong collaborative skills

Education and Experience:

Working Conditions:
Normal office environment. Frequent walking around manufacturing facility.
Some travel required. Able to work overtime as needed
