Job Summary: The Materials Planner plans and coordinates material management operations for business unit or organization.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Forecasts material needs for manufacturing processes Establishes appropriate material inventory levels and determines reorder points Analyzes, oversees, and coordinates the ongoing logistical functions of the company for the entire life cycle of a product, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, and final disposal of using the companies established Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) tool Works with other departments, such as sales and purchasing, to ensure optimization of inventory level. Prepares lists and purchase orders to obtain required materials, tools, and equipment Manages department budget Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate Ability to read and interpret blueprints to draft clear and detailed manufacturing procedures Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree in related area preferred. At least five years of experience in related disciplines
