**[Usual duties: [Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a full-time, tenure track faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of the microbiology and immunology curriculum in foundational and systems-based courses. Additionally, the candidate is expected to deliver some molecular and cellular biology sessions, thus solid foundational knowledge in molecular and cellular biology for teaching medical students is also required.

[Collaborates with faculty in other departments to provide a highly integrated curriculum. Provides instruction using various methods of content delivery, including large and small group discussions, team-based learning, case-based learning, and other interactive approaches. Participates in the writing of exam questions based on COMLEX - USA and USMLE styles. Maintains scholarly activities, including application for research grants, dissemination of research findings in peer-reviewed journals, and conference attendance. Mentors research projects involving participation from osteopathic medical students. Acts as a faculty advisor and participate in selection of students. Participates in university and college committee services. Performs other duties as assigned by the chair of the department.

**[Degree Requirements: [A PhD, DO, MD or equivalent terminal degree in a related field from an accredited university is required.

**[Experience Requirements: [At least two years of teaching experience in microbiology and immunology to students in health professional schools (medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, etc.) is required. Preference will be given to a candidate who has teaching experience at a medical school and an understanding of integrating osteopathic principles into curriculum development.

[Good interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to work cooperatively and congenially with all faculty is required. Leadership skills and vision for enhancing the academic components of a multi-disciplinary department are essential.
