Role Purpose: Responsible for the set up and running of CNC equipment including deburring of parts, and verification of blueprint dimensions.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Sets up and operate CNC metalworking machine tools such as lathe or milling machine to machine parts to specifications and verifies conformance of parts to specifications.

• Ability to edit programs, change offsets and reduce set up time.

• Read and interpret blueprints.

• Analyze written specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instructions to plan layout and determine sequence of operations.

• Set up and operate machines, including adjusting speeds and feeds, and the use of proper tooling and fixtures.

• Use full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to determine acceptability of parts.

• Perform preventive maintenance on machines as required part of PM schedule or calendar.

• Read and edit programs.

• Knowledge of GD&T.

• Effectively and safely operate multiple machines at same time.

• Consult with engineer and other personnel regarding product information such as design, capacity and purpose, and types of material to be used to fabricate product.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to work overtime, including Saturdays, on a continuing basis as needed.

• Ability to deal with frequently changing schedules and assignments.

• Ability to meet tight tolerances while maintaining acceptable output.

• Safely and effectively use expensive tooling, fixtures, and equipment.

Education and/or Experience:

• 3 years related experience and/or training.

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or trade school preferred.

• Basic math, measuring devices and blueprint reading.

• Advanced math such as trigonometry preferred.
