Principal accountabilities:
Produce dry salt from brine by operating the evaporator and drying equipment
Operate and maintain the boiler
Operate and maintain screeners, elevators, and salt processing equipment, providing product to packaging
Understand and advocate safety rules and regulations
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Operate forklift
Other duties as assigned
Required qualifications:
Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-part employer
Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility
Ability to work overtime, different shifts, weekends and holidays with advance notice
Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
Must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc.
Must be able to operate machinery
High School diploma or Equivalent
Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in production related work
Forklift experience
Mechanical background
Prior experience with inventory systems
Working knowledge of MS Office Software with an emphasis on Excel and Word
