Job Summary:

Vail Resorts is searching for a manager to become an important part of our high-energy, fast-paced, and innovative HR Technology team. The HR Technology Application Manager is an important position reporting to the Director of HR Technology. In this role you will be a leader that is results-oriented and will work collaboratively across the enterprise to design, build, and implement Human Resource (HR) technology solutions as well as manage and enhance deployed applications.

We are looking for someone that is highly motivated, passionate, detail oriented and wants to solve problems. This leader will come with HR technology and people leadership expertise. They will have a proven track record for leading complex initiatives that lead to business outcomes across a data-driven HR approach.

To succeed in this role, you must have a history of developing high performing teams, hold a keen understanding of the decision-making processes, be able to build relationships with functional leadership, and the ability to systematically improve data driven decisions in a complex environment.

  • The budgeted range starts at $130,000 - $150,000 + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of HR Technology applications including incidents, user access, security settings and system configurations.

  • Oversee system updates; prioritize initiatives, ensure requirements and scope are clearly defined, and project plans are outlined. Ensure system changes and initiatives consider interdependencies with existing HR Technology.

  • Evaluate current HR processes, technology and user requirements to develop technology solutions in support of business priorities.

  • Assist in the implementation of HRIS platforms, collaborating with IT, HR, and other stakeholders to define requirements, configure systems, and ensure successful deployment.

  • Oversee daily workflow of HRIS operations and HR technology team, with particular focus on helping team members build technical expertise.

  • Lead and develop our HR Technology Team, ensuring solid succession planning, and maintaining long-term organizational strategic designs.

  • Support continuous enhancement of team skills to ensure resources are in place to deliver on department and broader HR team commitments.

  • Proactively collaborate with HR leaders and team members to establish and enforce key processes, standards, and best practices to ensure that core HR applications are maintained in an efficient and stable manner and that all systems remain current/up to date in order to support the strategic direction of COE and other key partners.

  • Partner with our HR Business Teams and Technology Teams to both maintain and advance our enterprise data-driven HR roadmap

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand strategic business needs, and use that knowledge and those relationships to drive effective prioritization to deliver long-term strategic value.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Strong knowledge of HR processes, data management, and technology solutions.

  • Previous experience working with PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) modules is essential. Proficiency in using PeopleSoft HCM modules, including Core HR, Benefits Administration, Payroll, Talent Management, and Employee Self-Service.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in implementing data-driven employee experiences is highly sought after.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and generate innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy and enthusiasm

  • Manages multiple assignments concurrently

  • Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills that translate into the ability to explain and “sell” concepts and technologies to business and technology leaders.

  • Must be comfortable working in highly collaborative environments; must be able to learn new and emerging concepts very quickly.

  • Experience with HR platforms (Oracle/PeopleSoft, ServiceNow, Workday, Workforce Management, SuccessFactors, ELM etc.).

  • Direct hands-on experience with Vendor and Relationship Management.

  • Security and audit controls experience and knowledge

  • Experience supporting application security, updates, integrations, and upgrades.

  • 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams, operating and influencing effectively across the organization.

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $130,000 - $150,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays. Employees living outside of a commutable distance can work remotely from British Columbia, Washington D.C., and the 16 U.S. states* in which we currently operate.
