About the role

The candidate will be responsible for establishing and leading the Robust Design stream in Software Quality Assurance within Carrier Transicold business. The candidate shall work in collaboration with the global business leads within Carrier Transicold Engineering software organization in setting-up and ensuring compliance with global software processes and tools for design robustness, validation, manufacturing uniformity and field reliability

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery leadership (managerial) experience in QA competency areas including Embedded software, Automation, Telematics, Connectivity, Cloud and mobile solutions for at least 5 years.

  • Tailor existing or create new standard work processes to improve project effectiveness.

  • Identify critical skill gaps impacting the performance of standard work processes.

  • Train local teams on how to execute standard work processes.

  • Validate process performance through the application of pilot projects and case studies.

  • Collaborate with software engineering, enterprise architecture, product managementand design, product delivery/infrastructure, product operations/ devops and customersupport to improve overall quality, emphasizing defect prevention throughout thedevelopment and maintenance lifecycle; Partner with internal business stakeholders toassist with improving throughput and quality of all deliverables.

  • Educate the team and larger organization about QA processes, providing guidance whennecessary.

  • Leverage skills and experience as the software quality champion across the organization,constantly working for continuous improvement with all facets of the SDLC.

  • Define local best practices based on business unit capabilities, needs and products.

  • Identify issues where current processes are not meeting project team needs.

  • Develops and implements regulatory strategy to achieve full product compliance with regulations requiring product.

  • Anticipate, communicate, and manage regulatory changes with respect to existing regulations that may impact existing product lines and benefit new product introduction.

  • Provide guidance to business and implement appropriate compliance plan internally and to the vendors.

  • Understand potential product use and misuse (occupational, consumer, etc.) and work across the function to develop work flows to assure products are used only for their intended use.

  • Expert should be well versed with Reliability and Safety

  • Should help Program Manager in achieving all the right stages in Regulatory tests and should be in position to present the technical material to the management.

  • Proficiently work with development methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile etc. and related project management tools such as Rational Suite, Rally, JIRA etc.

  • Hands-on experience in implementing quality system such as CMMi /SPICE or equivalent.

Requirements

15+ years growing experience as a leader in the embedded software development, validation and/or software process improvement disciplines; 5+ years in a leadership capacity.

BE/B Tech/MS/M Tech degree in CSE/ECE streams
