GE Vernova Sr. Staff Solution QA Engineer in Hyderabad, India

Job Description Summary

This role is responsible for designing Testing Strategy and implementation of highly complex product integration scenarios. The role involves gaining a deep understanding of multiple software products across the entire grid software portfolio, working with domain experts and customers to understand real-life scenarios and then working with the team to get these test cases automated. This role is highly visible and critical in driving quality of solutions to our customers with a chance to understand the entire breadth of the grid software ecosystem.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Understand the landscape of products in the portfolio and develop comprehensive test strategy for integrations across these products

• Ensure effective test automation is developed to speed up validation processes

• Work with product owners and directly with customers to analyze and translate the analysis into test scenarios to be executed

• Provide expertise in Design, Architecture, Development and Shipping from Quality Engineering perspective

• Lead impact assessment of decisions related to Quality Engineering plan and end to end strategy for releases

• Provide expertise, oversight, mentor team members and lead quality initiatives in large development efforts

• Demonstrate deep understanding of competitive landscape, latest trends and technologies in Quality Engineering.

• Demonstrate the ability of benchmarking against competition.

• Provides subject matter expertise in quality engineering processes and methodologies with ability to adapt and improvise in various situations.

• Navigate through ambiguity, prioritizes conflicting asks and shows ability to adapt to changing project situations

• Demonstrate expert level skills in collaborating with different stakeholders, Influencing decisions and an ability to take strategic view.

• Lead Quality Engineering efforts across the product version(s)

• Provide expertise in continuous integration process and test automation while mentoring and training team members in the process.

Education Qualification

For roles outside USA: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with significant experience.

For roles in USA: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

Experience: Minimum years of experience 12+ years

Desired Characteristic

Technical Expertise:

• Brings a good understanding of the grid, preferably worked in an electric utility or expertise in power systems

• Has experience working on a GE Vernova or a competitor's transmission or distribution product

• Has experience in test automation

• Has experience with issue-tracking and agile project management systems

• Expert in developing and executing maintainable automation tests for acceptance, functional, and regression test cases.

• Skilled in integrating project testing with continuous-integration process.

Business Acumen:

• Demonstrates the ability of benchmarking against competition.

• Brings a good understanding of the grid business to the table

• Demonstrates an understanding of competitive landscape, latest trends and technologies in Quality Engineering.
