Microsoft Corporation Technical Program Manager II in Hyderabad, India

Are you an experienced network professional looking for an opportunity to work on some of Azure’s biggest challenges?  We are the Azure Core team, and we are looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our team.

We are part of the Azure engineering organization and consider great customer experiences critical to the overall success of Azure. Our team builds the Azure Network Platform and services like Azure Virtual Network, Azure VPN, Azure Firewall, Azure Private Link, and other customer facing network and network security services.  We create, define, and lead product offerings that set our customers up for success, empower them to solve problems, and ensure they have a phenomenal experience.

Responsibilities

  • You will partner with Software and Hardware Engineering to design technical solutions across feature areas. You’ll also identify risks and propose data-based mitigations.

  • You’ll define success criteria and create relationships for implementing features for complex cross-functional projects.

  • You’ll coordinate and ensure alignment across organizations.

  • You will deliver on roadmap for multiple feature groups, track project schedules, develop staging and implementation plan, and manage governance programs.

  • You will drive continuous improvements by validating use cases and writing test cases from scratch. You’ll also lead teams to partner with other departments to collect performance metrics, drive customer support, and lead direct customer engagements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.

  • OR equivalent experience where your primary responsibilities directly involved implementing, designing, or operating enterprise networks, data centre networks, cloud networks or defining, developing, designing computer network platforms, services, or products.

  • Hands on experience and knowledge of computer networking concepts (e.g., routing, network design, SDN (Software defined Network), SDWAN (Software

  • Defined Wide Area Network), tunnelling, NAT (Network Address Translation), encryption, protocols, network monitoring)

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.

  • Ability to concisely frame problems, conceptualize simple solutions, and make decisions based on data and metrics with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment, make quick decisions and understand the consequences.

  • Experience with data analysis. Including Excel, Power Pivot, Power BI, Kusto (Azure Data Explorer), and SQL

  • A deep knowledge of regulatory / compliance requirements. (e.g. GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)
