Allied Machine & Engineering OEM Sales Engineer in Illinois

The OEM Sales Engineer will coordinate all marketing and sales activities supporting the OEM and Machine Tool distributors in assigned region. Interfaces with FSE’s, Business Development and Application Engineering for all turnkey OEM projects and related customer support activities.

This is a remote position, but must live in either Michigan, Illinois, or Northern Indiana.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish ongoing relationships with Applications Engineers at OEM builder and distributor locations resulting in increased turnkey business.

  • Conduct periodic product presentations and tool demonstrations at the OEM locations.

  • Participate in machine run offs at the OEM and end-user locations.

  • Actively promote attendance to AMEC technical training programs.

  • Promote our having permanent product displays in the OEM’s showrooms.

  • Work to have AMEC tools on OEM machine demonstrations at IMTS and other shows.

  • Establish a good working relationship with the FSE’s who have OEM’s in their territories.

  • Actively promote AMEC attendance at open houses, sales meetings, and trade shows.

  • Maintain an account profile for each OEM account in company CRM.

Requirements

  • 2-year Engineering or Technology degree, 4-year degree preferred

  • 3-5 years diversified technical experience in sales and/or engineering related field.

  • Experience calling on Machine Tool OEM’s and OEM distributors, preferably in this region.

  • Have strong technical skills as they relate to the metalworking industry.

  • Have strong oral/written communication skills.

  • Be comfortable making group presentations.

  • Be able to travel 60-75%.
