Job Title: Millwright Mechanic -- Weekly Pay

Job Description

The Maintenance-Millwright Mechanic position is responsible for playing a critical role in supporting all production and facility maintenance, installation, repair, and fabrication of equipment and machinery, primarily in Imperial, NE, with occasional travel to other locations. This role ensures the efficiency, quality, and consistency of production processes by assessing, modifying, and calibrating equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, inspect, and test various production lines and equipment.

  • Program logic controls for proper equipment operation.

  • Ensure quality and consistency in production processes by assessing, modifying, and calibrating equipment.

  • Evaluate and modify production processes and equipment to ensure efficiency and productivity.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with equipment, devices, or products using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

  • Assist the Production/Plant Manager with developing, constructing, and evaluating prototypes, new products, operations, and procedures.

  • Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.

  • Read and interpret schematics and equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.

  • Complete work orders for repair promptly.

  • Maintain records to ensure accountability of time, parts, and repairs to meet regulatory compliance and budget constraints.

  • Install and perform diagnostic tests on mechanical systems.

  • Perform preventative maintenance for the facility according to schedule.

  • Communicate with management and other maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.

  • Make repairs to tools and equipment as needed.

  • Use hand and power tools, ensuring tools and equipment are maintained and repaired.

  • Clean and assist with the upkeep of the facilities.

  • Comply with company safety policies and maintain a clean and orderly work area, following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Driver License

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, including mechanical, electrical, and PLC, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • 1+ year of installations, maintenance, and repairs

  • Forklift Certification or ability to obtain

  • 1+ year of maintenance in a food processing environment

Work Environment

Work in a grain elevator setting as part of a team of 10. The dress code includes jeans, steel-toed boots, and layers as needed. The typical work hours are Monday to Friday from 7 am to 4 pm, with occasional Saturdays and early leave on Fridays. The interview process includes sending a resume and having an on-site interview with the Plant Manager.
