Northwest Bank Regulatory Relations and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Manager in Independence, Ohio
Description The Regulatory Relations and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Specialist will serve as a key point of contact between Northwest's regulators and business units and provide strategic and tactical management of Northwest's regulatory relationships by facilitating clear and consistent internal and external communication, conducting exam management activities in an organized manner and responding timely to regulatory requests and deliverables. In addition, the position will support the ERM framework and programs which could include enterprise-wide risk training, metrics, issues management, policies and procedures, management and committee reporting, and quality assurance activities. The Regulatory Relations and ERM Specialist will also help facilitate messaging of risk-related initiatives and updates to the risk pillars, and broader organization, when necessary, through effective communication and development/maintenance of standard toolkits and intranet site. Essential Functions * Establish and maintain a formal examination management process to improve standards, coordination, and discipline for interactions with the regulators across the bank and present our commitment to regulatory compliance and our strong culture of integrity * Act as the lead and primary point of contact for the regulatory exam team and assist business lines during all regulatory examinations by coordinating and overseeing various aspects of the examination * Be responsible for understanding the implications of regulatory messages and providing interpretation and guidance to internal executive business stakeholders * Develop and maintain formal communication plans with key regulatory agencies to facilitate scheduling of important meetings and promoting information-sharing at all levels of the organization (including protocols for the frequency and type of communication required) * Maintain full and easily acceptable records of all regulatory interaction * Provide advice and conduct training to/for management regarding how Northwest colleagues should interact with regulators * Coordinate and enhance communications with the various executive management teams to reduce the possibility of regulatory misunderstanding or inconsistent messaging. Ensure the organization speaks with one consistent and transparent voice to its regulators. Includes mapping organization contacts from across the institution to their regulatory counterparts and provide protocols for the frequency and type of communication required. * Periodically communicate update on exam matters - schedule, results, issues, etc. * Help to enhance the enterprise-wide risk management training program by developing meaningful and role-based trainings and streamlining where possible, while maintaining the integrity risk management requirements * Assist to maintain and improve ERM's policy and procedure framework * Analyze risk data across the pillars and assist in communicating key items and/or areas of opportunity to management and risk committees, up to the board through clear and consise reporting * Help to further develop the risk metric program including but not limited to ensuring appropriate risk metrics are implemented and representative of the risk pillars and mapped from the Risk Appetite Statements down through Early Warning Indicators * Perform quality assurance reviews to confirm ERM programs and framework are being consistently utilized and followed across each risk discipline * Ensure relevant risk-related information and updates are appropriately disseminated across the risk organization, and broader organization, as needed; develop/maintain standard toolkits and intranet site Additional Essential Functions * Ensure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations * Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximi
