Job Description
The Manager of Regional Operations, Scholar Relations (MRO) at Lighthouse Academies (LHA) supports the vision that all current and future students in the Lighthouse Academies’ Network can achieve high levels of academic success resulting in the creation of limitless opportunities for a bright future.
The MRO works to ensure that the region has sound operational practices, including scholar enrollment, attendance, student support, community relations and athletics.
The MRO works closely with the Vice President of Operations (VPO) to ensure that systems and procedures are functioning optimally in support of services to schools and regional offices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The MRO is accountable for the realization of the mission, vision and goals of Lighthouse Academies.
The MRO is accountable for the organizational health of the region and its schools.
The MRO will work closely with the Regional Superintendent, the Manager of Regional Operations – School Relations, and the Vice President of Operations to ensure that schools in their regions are meeting their organizational goals and local compliance responsibilities.
The MRO’s actions must always be aligned with our mission, vision, core values and education program. The essential functions are as follows:
RESPONSIBILITIES
Scholar Recruitment and Enrollment
Project and plan the enrollment strategy for the region. Allocate resources recognizing the reality that every empty seatplaces a strain on the school’s ability to service the scholars. Certify that scholar data is true and accurate in the studentinformation system.
Food Services
Ensure scholars are served properly with meals that meet the standards set forward by state and federal requirements.
Oversee compliance with reporting and Department of Health Standards. Manage the food service portal and serve as point of contact for the region.
Transportation
Manage scholar transportation ensuring scholars are transported safely to and from school. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts annually.
Athletics
Oversee the athletics program by managing the Athletics Director. Manage the athletic budget, including allocations, spending, and deposits and approve purchases and coach hires/stipends annually.
Attendance & Truancy
Oversee attendance and truancy for the region and strategizes with schools to address truancy. Certify that attendance data is true and accurate in the student information system. Review and update regional truancy and attendance policies to ensure we are in compliance.
Conduct audits around attendance and truancy and follow up with teams to ensure the policies are being followed with fidelity.
Compliance
Responsible for all non-financial reporting to Federal, State and Local entities. Should be highly knowledgeable of Charter Laws, the bylaws of the Charters for the individual schools.
Community Relations
Implement community outreach programs. Build and maintain relationships with community partners.
McKinney-Vento/ Homeless and Foster Youth
Serve as McKinney-Vento and Foster Youth liaison for the region. Complete the annual certification and manage the process and budget for the support of our homeless and foster youth. Communicate with DCS to ensure reliable transportation for all foster youth. Support school teams in ensuring a reliable and safe school environment for all scholars.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
Local travel as required to perform duties as required.
Skills & Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree Required
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Five (5) years of experience as a school administrator, district administrator, or charter network administrator preferred.
Proven track record of “moving the needle” with organizational outcomes in high need, urban environments
Successful experience with charter school enrollment
Desire to work in a mission and goal driven, entrepreneurial environment
Sharp intellect with the ability to think critically and solve immediate, short-term and long-term problems
High level of energy
Unquestionable integrity
Experience with collaborative leadership
Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize
Experience with data managements tools and computer programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Ability to travel up to 20% of work year; Valid driver’s license required
